Amsterdam Waterproof went away to Groningen for a weekend of training and fun.

The event was organised on the 22nd and 23rd of February. It started with a 2-hour of special training at the beautiful Helperzwembad swimming pool, also known as “Ranomibad” because it is where Dutch Olympic swimmer Ranomi Kromowidjojo trained.

After that the team explored Groningen city by going on a treasure hunt throughout town, while trying to solve a “murder” scenario cleverly designed by the organisation committee. The afternoon ended with a bowling session and dinner, following by going out in the many bars and pubs in the city center. The next day, the team headed back to the pool for a mini-tournament where all levels where mixed, giving our most recent batch of beginner players an opportunity to play water-polo in game conditions.

The water-polo training and mini-tournament were designed by Waterproof’s trainers to help club members work on specific aspects that were identified as needing more attention in recent games. The serious training was balanced with fun group activities and games in the pool.

More than just a good training, the weekend was a great moment for Waterproof members to learn to get to know each other better.
